Dr. Matthew Moquin-Lee
Managing Artistic Director

Dr. Matthew Moquin-Lee (he/him) is a versatile conductor, educator, and community advocate dedicated to using choral music as a means of connection and social change. He serves as the Director of Choral Activities at Xavier University, where he conducts the Xavier Concert Choir, Treble Chorus, Tenor/Bass Chorus, and teaches voice.

A passionate advocate for social justice, Moquin-Lee is deeply committed to community engagement and addressing societal inequities through music. His recent partnerships include the Ohio Innocence Project, Greater Cincinnati Homeless Coalition, Faith Communities Go Green, Sweet Cheeks Diaper Bank, and the Queen City Street Choir. He also serves as Worship Arts Director at First Lutheran Church Cincinnati, where he integrates music and community outreach.

Originally from Mississippi, Moquin-Lee holds a Bachelor of Music in Choral Music Education from the University of North Texas, a Master of Music in Choral Conducting from Westminster Choir College, and a Doctor of Musical Arts in Choral Conducting from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music.

Moquin-Lee thrives on building artistic communities, fostering organizational growth, and creating meaningful musical experiences that inspire positive change. He lives in Westwood, Cincinnati, with his spouse Tyler and their two dogs, Luther and Benny.

Katie Personke
Assistant Artistic Director

Katie Personke (she/her) holds degrees in vocal music education from Ohio Wesleyan University and the University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music. She has been teaching music in public schools for fifteen years in Illinois and Ohio, working with students and adults of all ages and abilities. Katie has been a member of YPCC since 2012, helping in many different capacities and is currently the Associate Choral Director, providing artistic leadership and conducting ensembles for On Call, Caroling, and the Holiday Cycle. She teaches elementary school music for Mt. Healthy City Schools and also is the music director for several local theater groups. Katie lives in Cincinnati with her partner Jonathan and their two cats, and in her free time loves to read, knit, travel, and be the best aunt ever.

Mary Andersen
Operations Director

Mary Andersen is thrilled to be stepping into her new role as YPCC’s Operations Director! After joining the staff last year as Chorus and Production Manager, she is so excited to continue supporting the organization she loves in this new role.

Mary’s ROOTS with YPCC run deep. As a dedicated alumni, she sang with YPCC from the 2012 Caroling Cycle through the summer of 2019—managing a streak of never missing a single performance cycle along the way and returning to the risers once she returned to the greater Cincinnati area! Armed with a Bachelor's in Music, a Master's in Education, and years of experience running her own assisting business, Mary brings a genuine love for systems, logistics, and smooth operations to the team. She thrives on using her organizational and tech skills to make life easier and more joyful for YPCC's singers, staff, and patrons alike.

Outside of chorus life, Mary lives on a farm in rural Kentucky with her partner, two cats, a dog, and her extended family right upstairs. When she isn't making YPCC spreadsheets, she is practicing energy healing, tending to the flock of chickens, or living up to her reputation as the aunt who gives the best hugs and can seamlessly mend any hole in your favorite clothes or whip up a quilt for you to get cozy under to read your favorite book.

Makayla Kelly
Development Associate

Makayla Kelly (She/Her) is an ambitious young arts administrator who is passionate about equality and accessibility within the arts. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Flute Performance from Baldwin Wallace University, and just recently moved to Cincinnati from her hometown of Canton, OH. Prior to this position, she interned and volunteered with several arts organizations throughout Northeast Ohio, including Apollo’s Fire, the Greater Cleveland Flute Society, and the Canton Symphony Orchestra. She also served as the Donor Programs and Events Intern at the Cincinnati Art Museum, where she fell in love with arts advocacy and fundraising. Alongside her position at YPCC, she works at JPMorganChase as an Associate Banker.

In her free time, Makayla enjoys reading, pilates, and visiting her family back home. She lives in Anderson with her fiancé, Nick, and her two cats, Miss Piggy and Sylow. She is so excited to join YPCC’s team, and cannot wait to become more familiar with the arts scene in Cincinnati!

Jaclyn Threadgill
Head of Design

Jaclyn Threadgill (she/her) is a multidisciplinary creative with a professional background that includes magazine design, branding, marketing, web design, illustration, and mural design. She grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico (the answer is always “green”) and went to college in Phoenix, Arizona. In 2009 Jaclyn and her husband moved to Himeji, Japan. Over the following seven years in Japan they had lots of adventures, including a baby. The three of them repatriated to Cincinnati in 2016. Jaclyn only sings in the car, but she has a passion for very loud traditional Japanese instruments. She is part of Wadaiko Gouken, a performing taiko (Japanese drum) group out of Dayton, and also studies tsugaru shamisen (a 3-stringed instrument played in a fast, percussive style with a plectrum that resembles an ice scraper).

William Perry
Collaborative Pianist

William Perry (he/him) is a versatile pianist, organist, keyboardist, and educator. He earned degrees in piano performance from Stetson University, where he studied with Michael Rickman, and Florida State University, where he studied piano with Joel Hastings and pedagogy with Diana Dumlavwalla. As a piano soloist, he has performed at major international festivals, including Music at Ambialet in France, the Dublin International Piano Festival in Ireland, the Prague Piano Festival in Czechia, and the Orfeo Music Festival in Italy. His accolades include first-place finishes at the J.S. Bach Competitive Festival and Trula Whelan Concerto Competition.

William is a sought-after accompanist, working with many local Cincinnati choirs in addition to serving as the collaborative artist for YPCC and organist for Holy Trinity - St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church. As a keyboardist, he specializes in accurately recreating vintage keyboard sounds for tribute bands. He performs throughout the region with the 70s tribute band Gee, Your Band Smells Terrific and has performed live, full-album recreations of the music of The Beatles. William is also passionate about piano pedagogy and has been teaching private piano lessons for over 15 years. He frequently presents at state and national pedagogy conferences on a range of topics. Recently, his research led him to found Piano Music Database, an online platform dedicated to the analysis, categorization, and promotion of pedagogical piano repertoire.

Originally from New Smyrna Beach, Florida, William now resides in Pleasant Ridge with his wife, Ariadne, and their Boston Terrier, Waffle. In his spare time, he enjoys studying Greek, camping, and racing go-karts.
